Cairns Coconut Holiday Resort Rally Team Up For 2011 Australian Safari

The Cairns Coconut Holiday Resort Rally Team is again up for the challenge of the 2011 Australasian Safari.

The Cairns Coconut Holiday Resort Rally Team sees the return of its strong two car challenger line-up: - twice outright winner of the Australasian Safari and former Australian Motorcycle champion Steve Riley, once more partnered with long time veteran navigator John Doble; and Geoff Olholm, also a former motorcycle champion and Australian representative - turned off road racer, partnered by regular navigator Haydn Redfern.

Geoff and Steve recently returned from the 2011 Dakar rally where they finished 27th in their first time attempt at the world’s toughest off road race - where only a third of the competitors get to finish the course.

For this year’s Australasian Safari rally - both Geoff and Steve will be driving Ralliart Mitsubishi Pajeros, the “V8 Supercars of the desert”, powered by 6 litre V8 500hp engines combined with 6 speed Hollinger sequential gear boxes.
