UPDATE!

Andy Van Kann, t he Road Director of the MOTO Adventure Tour, has just returned from 14 days in the bush finalising the Adventure Tour MOTO course.

Andy reports that he is “confident that we have found a sensational 7 day ride. The first three days are quite gentle with lots of long distance riding with visits to some very interesting places. After Leonora, the riding gets a little more serious with the MOTO Tour picking up sections of at least 2 competitive stages every day. Each day we have also selected some sensational places to watch the competitors come through. The MOTO Tour riding sections have been selected to provide thrilling trail/enduro riding without the technical challenge of some of the really tough bits... We've left those for the competitors!"

Numbers for this year’s Adventure Tour are looking great, with the MOTO Compact Tour, which joins the Full Tour halfway and finishes in Kalgoorlie with the competitors, proving very popular.

For 4WD enthusiasts, the separately guided Adventure Tour AUTO will provide participants with a challenging but enjoyable journey through the Coral Coast and the Golden Outback. AUTO participants will join the MOTO Tour and competitors each night at the Safari Village. At the end of each day out on the trails, the Catering Pavilion will host delicious dinners, encouraging the camaraderie the Safari is famous for, and where tales of the day can be shared over a cold beer or two.

Join the Adventure Tour and be part of the exciting Australasian Safari. The Australasian Safari Adventure Tour follows an endurance based Safari through the rough and rugged terrain of Western Australia’s unspoilt outback.

Entrants in the fully-guided Adventure Tour are given the chance to experience the exhilaration of the fast-paced international event without the pressures of competition - it’s all about a fun and social atmosphere!

Throughout this memorable journey, showcasing some remarkable attractions, you’ll still finish at the same locations as the competition participants and witness the pressures of competition- stamina, perseverance and camaraderie - all within a festive environment.

You don’t need a race car - any reliable road registered 4WD or motorbike, with a few additional pieces of equipment and you’re set to go!

For 2009 we will have a separate Moto Tour and Auto Tour categories. Separate guides will also be with you every step of the way and your itinerary is being designed to have a great mix of tourism, off road adventure, plenty of spectating and of course being part of the overnight stops locations.

As the Safari is a top secret route, all of the destinations and service breaks will be revealed on departure.
